Downtown Ybor City

We trudged the historic Cuban cigar Mecca and ride the Ybor-Tampa Trolley.

Once nicknamed Cigar City, Ybor City was owned by immigrants from Cuba, Italy, and Spain. The city flourished from the 1890’s to the Great Depression. It is now a tourist destination with many restaurants, shops, and bars. Yes, you can watch people make cigars for the tobacco shops. Ybor City has been designated as a National Historical Landmark District. Well worth a walking tour to see the buildings and explore the shops. Maybe stop for an adult beverage and lunch. Catch a ride on the trolly to Tampa and return, too.

Come on in! Postmortem Antiques? Slide show follows.

What are you looking at? Wow! Come here Bill, you gotta see this.

WOW!

Centro Ybor Cantina overlooking 7th Avenue.

This second story overlook cantina had several rum concoctions and interest craft beers. Believe it or not, peggy is shown here having sex on the beach. Paul and I had an IPA beer. I know, shocking...that we would not have had a rum concoction. On a more serious note: In 2008, 7th Avenue was recognized as one of the “10 Great Streets in America” by the  American Planning Association. Let’s go shopping:

Paul and Peggy would look great in these outfits, yes? Check the following fashions out:

I have no words...But then again maybe we could market it:

After a few drinks grab the trolly for a one hour round trip ride with an all day pass. Yes, you can get off and back on anywhere on the route.

Happy go trolley poster tourists somewhere in downtown Tampa.

We went to Steinbrenner Field for a preseason game between the Yankees and the Phillies.

The Sunshine Bridge. A bridge to the sun? 93,000,000 miles of bridge. WOW!

Dunedin Farewell:

On the last full day of the invasion Paul, Peggy and Carol went shopping and bar hopping in downtown Dunedin while Bill worked his part time job at the Chi Chi golf course. They agreed to pick Bill up at 1:30 pm. Happy is happy does.

Chick-A-Boom Boom Room

Bill gets a text letting him know they will be a little late. They are enjoying cocktails WHERE? Chick a what?

Adieu, adiós, and later Gators

We had a really great time. Lots of fun for us. You are always welcome here.

Yes, your celery compound idea has merit....maybe.

May your sponge diving business prosper. Remember, I people sponge off you, you can turn it into a business opportunity.

Y’all Come Back Now Ya Hear?

Wherever your travels take you, we hope to see you here again. Thanks for showing us the secret way to making ribs soft. Who would have thought a sledgehammer is a kitchen tool. Be well and visit again when you can.

The End ( Not Really)

Sunrise over Tampa Bay.
