New Zealand Invades Florida

May 19, 2018. Melbourne Australia to Los Angeles to Tampa Florida. Waiting in the cell phone lot we hoped we would recognize her after six long years of separation. After her message telling us she was ready for retrieval we drove past her twice. Here is the Angela we remembered:

The Angela we remember.

The new Jet Lagged Angela.

Of course Bill’s idea to introduce everyone to Aquavit wasn’t quite the antidote to jet lag he claimed.

Nothing like a party with friends to combat jet lag, right?

The plan: hike Eagle Park, beautify neglected toes, play golf, visit Henry Plant Museum, wander the streets of Ybor City and invade interesting restaurants. Oh, and catchup on sleep.

Eagle Lake Park. Angela decides to do a walk about.

Angela!!

Angela?

Swinging down out of the trees Angela comes to the rescue. Talks Carol out of hiking barefoot.

With a brisk Florida wind in their hair, Angela and Carol watch the incoming sea gulls..

Ok girls good landing. Line up for our synchronized take off.

Henrietta, tighten it up. You are leaving too much of a gap between you and Lucretia.

Come on! Stop shoving me! Who made you boss!

That’s it! I’m out of here. Go synchronize your self!

I taught English in Japan, been a public relations specialist for a hospital in New Zealand, served as a police officer in Sydney, instructor for the police academy, Worked in the media department within the police department, and most recently public relations for a large construction company in Melbourne. Oh, professional golfer too.

There are jobs Angela often forgets. Like this one in a little cantina just across the border in Mexico own by former Spanish aristocrats..and then:

Airline stewardess for a now defunct paramilitary black op operation.

Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army. And our favorite:

Master Brew Meister teaching Carol how to make beers from around the world.

Somehow, the more we made the less we had. Ok, on to golf.

It was a beautiful 87 degree (30.5 C) sunny day in Florida today for the highly anticipated matchup between New Zealand and Florida at the internationally known Chi Chi Golf Course in Clearwater Florida. Representing New Zealand three time invitational celebrity Angela Corbett and likewise but not a celebrity Bill Schiers representing Waste Water Management Services in Dunedin, Fl. Here Bill is introducing the golf ball to Angela who was surprised it was so large.

Drives tee 210 yards. Bill is astounded!

Moorhen mistakenly attempts to hatch Angela’s Ball.

There were flashes of brilliance in her game.

Wait til next time exclaims Angela.

Last seen driving on the wrong side of the cart path laughing diabolically...

Don’t be surprised if you see this picture in the leading golf magazines worldwide.

At a news stand near you...

New Zealand wins first place at the International Beautiful Toe Pageant held in Dunedin Florida at the Lucky Dill today. Funky was out this year, according to local toe nail expert Evie Dann, the judges were looking for simplicity and beauty. Even non judges can see the pride and boldness of the New Zealand entry, opined Carol Schiers prior winner of the coveted blue toe ribbon in 1993. When the announcement was made the large crowd of attendees erupted in supporting acclamation. In the words of one fan, they went nuts with delirium. People were heard commenting, Finally, a person who lets her toes do the talking. Impeccable! Adorable! Pretty! Cute! Inspiring! Perhaps the most erudite comment was made by the winner who said, If you want people to look down in your presence, make your toes beautiful. Indeed!

Henry B. Plant Hotel aka Morton Plant Museum. Pretty Magnificent no? Huge. Large enough for 500 people in the day-1889 or so.

In the day.

Today.

In case you are wondering what happened to Angela’s jeans.

Angela performed a miracle. Canonization imminently expected.

We walked the Main Street in Ybor City. Here are a few pics of dubious interest in the slide show below:

We ate out and we ate at home. Chef Angela created a delicious meal. Carol cooked too. Bill? The Uber driver. Slideshow follows.

Scorpio: There is a sense of mystery surrounding these people. Fascinated by balance and symmetry these individuals have a keen mind, strong intellect, rarely trip or fall and a compulsion to eat seafood. They are advocates for justice and equality. They make good lawyers, judges, chefs, and cat whisperers. They are inspired by good books, discussions with themselves and chimney sweeps. They dislike violence, loudmouths, injustice and cold cucumber soup. They like sharing with others, harmony, mud wrestling and the outdoors. They are warm hearted and have an uncanny ability to read others like an open book. They are persistent, focused and meticulous but also jovial and relaxed when in the right company. They are described as magnetic by their friends and are banned from magnet stores in three continents. They believe in love at first sight and don't need much time to get attached to someone. This has created issues in their lives from time to time:

As we write this blog Angela is in Vienna. Oh boy!

Angela took us out to feast. Guess who had what:

As Angela departed the handle of geography called Florida for adventures in Vienna and beyond, we see, in our minds eye this image. Did she fly solo? We ponder. Come back soon good friend. Already we miss you.
